However, it’s often hard to look beyond improving performance in day-to-day operations. Amid Brexit, the COVID-19 pandemic and other disruptions, accountancy practices and their clients are dealing with an unpredictable economic landscape. Future business planning can appear daunting.

However, technology can support accountancy practices (and their clients) in making informed business decisions, and planning for the future. In the first part of our Accountancy Practice Management for Future-Fit Growth series, we’ll explore how they can use technology to define and easily track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Doing so gives practices closer control of performance tracking, and deeper insights that will inform strategic growth plans.

Saving Time

For several decades, business technology platforms have enabled practices to track performance metrics that they have customised. This highlights areas that qualify for improvement and underpins strategic planning.

Contemporary technology, such as CCH KPI Monitoring, makes setting up KPIs faster and easier for accountancy practices than ever before. This is vital today. The current business landscape demands that firms assess and amend KPIs more frequently, based on fresh market variables. At the core of our impact lies the democratisation of technology. Since we began in 1997, we’ve been instrumental in providing over 14.6 million people with access to technology. This access is more than the provision of hardware; it’s the key to unlocking opportunities for learning, connection, and thriving in an ever-expanding digital world.

The ripple effect of this access has translated into an astounding 1.1 billion hours of learning, empowering individuals to acquire essential skills and knowledge.

Through the distribution of more than 271,000 laptops and PC kits, our reach has extended to those who need technology the most. We’ve forged partnerships with an average of 150 organisations each year, collaboratively working with over 4,100 organisations globally to make technology an inclusive force for positive change.

Sustainability has been a guiding principle throughout our journey, and our commitment to reducing e-waste stands as a testament to this. Since 2016, we’ve prevented over 18,480,908 kilograms of CO2e from entering the atmosphere. To put this into perspective, it is equivalent to removing 9,091 cars from the road for an entire year or planting 880,043 trees to offset the same amount of CO2e.

Furthermore, our efforts have contributed to a healthier planet by reusing 60,226 pieces of equipment and responsibly recycling 84,185. Our impact extends beyond digital empowerment; it encompasses a tangible commitment to the well-being of our planet for future generations.

Education is also an integral part of our mission, and our commitment to enhancing skills and knowledge is incredibly important to us. Since 2015, we have conducted 3,562 ICDL assessments, granting 2,102 ICDL certifications - with over 59% of these certifications earned by women. The impact of ICDL certification extends to 795 beneficiaries and 217 teachers who are now ICDL certified, amplifying the reach and quality of education in communities around the world. It's not just about providing access to technology; it's about empowering individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to navigate the digital landscape and participate fully in the opportunities it offers.
